Welcome to Boynton Beach! This area was established by a Civil War veteran from Michigan named Nathan Boynton. He built a hotel and encouraged a variety of farming by other colonists because of the fertile ground in the area. Boynton has always been considered a healthy place to raise a family. Town of Boynton Beach has two major sections. The original “downtown” area around US-1 is a couple blocks long but many of the buildings have been removed to make way for tall condominium buildings. A new Town Square is currently under development, 16-acres are being transformed to a walkable space with all new City Hall, Library, Police & Fire Departments and playground. The Old Boynton Beach High School building has been restored and turned into a Cultural Center.

The second and newer part of Boynton Beach begins along Congress Avenue – between Gateway and Boynton Beach Boulevard. Renaissance Commons, the former site of Motorola’s Paging Division Headquarters, now contains apartments, condominiums, townhomes and lots of restaurants plus the Boynton Beach Mall, big box stores, movie theatre and a Starbucks on every corner! Many large subdivisions are located further west with plenty of green space and man-made lakes. Boynton Beach is more affordable to live than cities and towns further south.
